You Can Do It!

Philippians 4:13

It is my belief that everyone has a desire to be successful. We do not want to struggle all of our lives. We do not want to sit back and watch our friends accomplish their goals while we are barely surviving. We want to our lives to be fruitful, productive, and successful.

My friends, I have good news for you today. Success and fruitfulness are achievable goals for Christians, for God has given each of us a gift that will not only bless someone else, but will bless us as well.

Regardless of what someone has told you in the past, I declare to you on this day: You can do it!

For this inspirational message, the Lord led me to this very familiar passage of scripture written by the Apostle Paul to the believers at the church in Philippi. Philippians 4:13 reads, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

The first thing that caught my attention is that the Apostle used the word “I”; he did not declare, “we.”

You see, my friends, as you travel on your journey toward your goals, there will be times when you are going to have to make your journey personal. It is going to have to be all about you. You will have to forget about everyone else—what they are doing, how they are feeling, and whether they are in agreement with you.

Anyone with vision—anyone with goals—will tell you that there comes a time during your journey when you have to stop trying to bring everyone along for the ride.

You see, when challenges arrive, there will be people around you who will not believe you will be able to accomplish your goals. They will tell you that you do not have what it takes. They will tell you that you do not know the right people. They will tell you that you lack support. They will tell you that you lack talent. They will constantly remind you of your failures. Instead of showing you how you can succeed, they will show you how you will fail.

Therefore, if you are going to accomplish your goals—if you are going to use the gifts and talents the Lord gave to you, you have to accept the fact that you are going to have to make some moves in the natural by yourself!

Notice I said “In the natural,” because you will still have company “in the spiritual,” for the apostle Paul continued by saying, “I can do all things through Christ.”

You see, when you give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, He promised in Matthew 28:20, “Lo, I am with you always…” Therefore, even though you may be alone in the natural, Jesus—The Overcomer—is with you as your Spiritual companion, guiding you every step of the way.

And one last thing…

Philippians 4:13 reads, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

As you strive to accomplish your goals, the obstacles and challenges you will face will have a tendency of draining you and slowing you down. They will discourage you and weigh you down.

When you get worn down, it will sap your strength.

When you get worn down, you will want to give up.

But glory to God, it will be at that very moment when the power of Jesus Christ will give you the strength you need to make it over!

When the challenges wear you down, the power of Jesus Christ will give you the strength to make it through!.

Therefore, as you strive for your goals, in the face of your next challenge, declare to yourself, “I can do it!”

By the way, I believe in you.

You can do it!
